This Week's News From The Farms

Summer has arrived and so have a number of the summer favorites just in time for the up and coming 4th of July weekend. Please note: due to the drought and excessive field heat, some of the eggplant and cucumbers may be a bit wrinkled, but it should not affect their taste.

In the coming weeks, we are looking forward to more corn including sugar dot (a bicolor sweet corn), cantaloupe, watermelons, more varieties of peppers and tomatoes, okra, figs and peaches, to name a few.

So enjoy and have a happy and safe 4th!

In Your Produce Basket This Week

White Sweet Corn, Slicing Cucumbers, Yellow Beans, Black Beauty Eggplant, Early Girl Tomatoes, Bell Peppers, German Stiffneck Garlic, Italian Basil

Fruit Share: Blackberries

Please read your location's Produce List for more details.

Recipes and Information

This week we are celebrating the arrival summer and the commencement of the summer produce that we all know and love! So, due to horrible massive computer problems, you are on your own to get creative with this week's bounty. We look forward to hearing about your creations, and who knows? Maybe we'll share your brainstorm with the other CSA members via this Weekly Weeder. Send your recipes to info@olinfoxfarms.com. We'll just use your first name, i.e. “CSA Member Thomas.”

By the way, corn's really great on the grill. Happy July 4th!
